Where They Needed Help

The Burrito Express operates in six locations, but the one in Tempe, Arizona was considered underperforming and unprofitable. To justify keeping it open, they were looking for a 15-20% sales growth for this branch.

Wise Roots Solution

Wise Roots helped Buritto Express to retarget its customer. We decided to use a Geofence campaign that targets students who live in dormitories or apartments near Arizona State University (ASU) one of the largest universities in the United States of America (U.S.).

Result

Burrito Express Tempe's gross sales for the second quarter of 2021 were approximately $130,000. For that same period in 2022, its gross sales dropped 8%, to just under $120,000.(They seriously considered not renewing their lease as not only were sales down 8% but costs with inflation had skyrocketed).

Enter Geofencing...

Beginning in July 2022, sales are seen to be returning to levels from 2021 before exploding in August and September. By the end of the 3-month campaign, the Tempe location realized a 19% increase in Sales. $154,000 in this quarter of 2022 vs $125,000 in 2021. Sales were down 8% and are now up 19% for a 27% swing. And for the first quarter of 2023, the total sales growth of Burrito Express is 61%.
